To kick-off the launch of The Dandy's Shop, we chatted with Annie Jackson, Co-founder & VP of Merchandising at clean beauty company, Credo Beauty. The marketing/business guru began her career at Estee Lauder and graduated to Sephora before disrupting the natural beauty space with Credo. Not only does Credo certify that their products are natural and non-toxic, but also that they’re efficacious. Once retail shops opens up again, New Yorkers can go visit Credo’s brick-and-mortar shop in North Williamsburg. Until then, enjoy this interview and check out all of the awesome clean products recommended by Jackson.

What are some of your favorite products on Credo's website right now that you use in the morning and evening?

I don’t wash my face in the morning, I give it a spritz of: January Labs Restorative Tonic Mist and then I use Honua Hawaiian Skincare’s two beautiful products mixed together: Aloha Youth Serum and Olena Beauty Oil. In the evening I use: Osea Ocean Cleansing Milk and either GOOPGLOW 15% Glycolic Acid Overnight Glow Peel or Graydon Berry Rich Probiotic Face + Eye Cream.

When you first learned what "dirty list" ingredients go into tons of products made by a myriad of "cool brands," were you shocked?

We started Credo for that very reason. At the time, we had discovered brands that were formulating more conscientiously than conventional brands by keeping in mind skin health and safety, but also the product life cycle. What happens to products when you’re done with them and what’s the impact on the environment?  So much innovation has happened in the natural products industry and they are just as efficacious and modern in technology as conventional products. We wanted to create a space where people can experience them.
