The Dandy spoke with Cait from Botany Box, a direct-to-consumer succulents company that sends these super lovely potted plants straight to your door. Botany Box’s new collaboration with temporary tattoo company INKED by Dani just launched and features hand-drawn tattoos in addition to an already-potted box of succulents. Read on for more about the power of smart brand collaborations, plants that thrive in urban environments, and how plants positively affect your mood.

We also snagged this discount code: DandyBB10 for you guys to use on all Botany Box orders!

Tell us a bit about this new Botany Box collaboration with INKED by Dani. How did it all come together?

We're really excited about this one, as it’s our first launch collaboration for Botany Box and there were a ton of moving parts. We needed to figure out how many exclusive boxes we wanted to sell, how our listing needed to look, content, copy, everything. I think putting a unique twist on the temporary tattoos Dani has to offer and having them be multifunctional will resonate with both of our unique following and community.

In addition to succulents, what are other plants that can thrive in an urban environment?

There are SO many options here! Some of my go-to plants I've had in my urban space, and that I recommend are: snake plants, zz plants, pothos, money trees and spider plants.

Being surrounded by plants is an instant mood booster. How does the addition of greenery in your space affect your mood?

It's scientifically proven to boost mood and is a huge visual pick-me-up. It really takes self-care one step further! Studies have been conducted on plants such as ivy and aloe that say they emit oxygen at night, which help us sleep better (and be less cranky in the morning). I personally think having greenery in my space puts me in a better mood overall. I feel more positive and productive in a space with plants.

Do you have plans to add more types of plants/flowers to Botany Box's collection in the future?

Yes! We're so excited to be launching plant tubes within the next two months! These will be XL succulents that come in branded tubes, ready to go out of their packaging and brighten up your space. I recently moved to LA, and this move will be really beneficial to our growth. Now we're much closer to our supply chains, garden centers, and can get our plants faster and safer. Keep an eye out for all the great things we do!
