For The Dandy Shop series, we spoke briefly with Aishwarya Iyer, founder of organic olive oil company Brightland about her organic olive oil company. What immediately stands out from the brand is their colorful, abstract artwork created in collaboration with an array of artists that design each label for a specific Brightland blend. For every purchase of The Artist Capsule collection, 25% of proceeds go to Soul Fire Farm, a 501(c)(3) BIPOC*-centered community farm committed to ending racism and injustice in the food system. As if that’s not enough of a reason to buy from Brightland, their olive oils are also made with absolutely zero fillers or artificial preservatives and they taste damn good.

What are some of your favorite Brightland olive oils to cook with?

I love roasting veggies and making big batches of pasta with Brightland's AWAKE.

Our ALIVE is delicious in hummus. ARDOR, the spicy oil is fantastic on pizza. And LUCID, the lemon olive oil is delicious in a pound cake.

Do you have Brightland olive oils that are meant more for dipping with bread?

They would all be terrific to dip with bread!

Do you cook a lot at home?

We are cooking all the time at home, especially these days. I made this sheet pan pizza last week and thought it was delicious. It was made with our newest basil olive oil, ARISE!
